StarReply ("we", "our", "us") is a software service that helps restaurant and business owners generate AI-powered replies to their Google reviews. We operate at starreplyapp.com. For privacy questions contact us at hello@starreplyapp.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use StarReply:

Email address and password (hashed) when you create an account
Business name and location you provide during setup
Google Place ID associated with your business (public identifier)
Review text fetched from Google's public Places API
AI-generated replies you create using our service
Usage data such as number of replies generated

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide the StarReply service. Specifically:

To authenticate you and maintain your account
To fetch your business's Google reviews
To generate AI reply drafts using the Anthropic Claude API
To track your usage against your plan limits
To respond to your support requests

We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

4. Third Party Services

StarReply uses the following third-party services to operate:

Anthropic Claude API — processes review text to generate reply drafts. Review text is sent to Anthropic's API servers to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies.
Google Places API — fetches public review data associated with your business listing.
Railway.app — hosts our backend server and database.
Vercel — hosts our frontend application.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a SQLite database hosted on Railway.app servers located in the United States. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. We use JWT tokens for session authentication.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion by emailing hello@starreplyapp.com, we will delete all your personal data within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@starreplyapp.com and we will respond within 7 business days.

8. Cookies

StarReply uses only essential cookies required for authentication (JWT tokens stored in localStorage). We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

StarReply is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
